Beginning in April nearby the rivers are high and prime for whitewater rafting and creaking. Weather is lovely and the water cool. North Creek, Located on the Upper Hudson River, is the perfect place to explore the many options for Whitewater rafting, tubing, Kayaking and Canoeing in the Adirondacks. We have some of the Biggest and Baddest waters in the east,on our rivers and many lakes too. All right here in Johnsburg!

Season Starts Mid April and and goes through early October. There are some 13+ rafting companies located in the North Creek area, as well as many that come from out of the region. North Creek is a Whitewater Rafting mecca with easy access to the Upper Hudson, Indian, Moose and others many thousands of folks come to enjoy the thrills of our wild waters from May to October. The town of Indian Lake runs daily Dam releases for the rafters assuring great water everyday all season long.

The upper Hudson, Indian and Moose rivers are the local favorites with long stretches boulder filled rapids. Daily Dam releases from Lake Abanakee assure the stretch of water on the Indian River to the Hudson River offers nonstop excitement all spring and summer long. Due to the technical demands of the rivers it is vital to book with local experienced licensed guides who know these waters intimately and can offer you a fun and very safe experience. Most trips take the majority of the day and the outfitters will set you up with gear, guides and transport. At the end of your exciting ride some will also serve you a lovely meal to send you on your way to your next Adirondack experience. If you are not into extreme whitewater experiences and prefer a more relaxed day there are a few companies that will set you up with tubes, canoes or Kayaks and take you to lovely stretches of calm rivers or tranquil unspoiled lakes for Guided or on your own experiences. Whether you want a daily day boat rental that you can take and adventure on your own or a fully guided day trip or a weekend long adventure with a professional NYS Licensed guide our local companies can help. Later in the season, as the waters warm, options for Tubing also come available.

It is important to book well in advance especially from Mid May on and for holidays. We prefer to recommend local businesses, that we know do a very good job. These folks are professionals and they are on these waters year round. They use quality equipment and safety hear.
